President, Frank Rose

Although the 2007/08 Rotary year started with no nominations for President Nominee, Rotarian Frank Rose stepped forward and volunteered for the position and now has become President of the Club in his turn. Frank is retired after spending a lifetime working in agricultural pharmaceuticals and, more recently, as a publican. He is married to Anne and, a very keen supporter of Leicester Tigers Rugby Club, can be found out on the terraces at Welford Road at most home games in his red, green and white club shirt.

 

Immediate Past President 2008/09, Milton Scott:

President Milton ScottMilton is married to Anne and has a son by a previous marriage who is an accountant. Milton works in the insurances department of Warwickshire County Council having spent many years working in insurance in southern Africa. He is a member of the local Bridge Club and enjoys walking and camping. Milton also enjoys good food and wine and is an excellent cook, much to the delight and enjoyment of his friends and fellow Rotarians.

 

President Elect, Attie Fitzpatrick.

President Nominee, Attie Fitzpatrick.Attie Fitzpatrick was previously a member of the Rotary Club of Hinckley Ambion and transferred to Lutterworth Wycliffe around five years ago. He is a retired bank manager and is married to Shirley. This is Attie's first venture into management of a Rotary Club. He currently servies in the club's Community and Vocational Committee and takes an active part in fund raising events and activities of his committee. He is a keen rugby fan, albeit that his aliegance lies with Irish rugby (as you will guess, his name gives away his origins).

Club president nominee, Phil Ashton.

Phil is married to Una and is a Rotarian of long standing, having previously been a member of the Rotary Club of Hinckley Albion for many years. He was also previously President of Hinckley Albion Rotary club. Phil is retired following a long careeras a senior manager in Telecommunications and enjoys spending time at his other home in Spain where he regularly attends the local Rotary Club.

 Club Treasurer, Peter Boulton:

Club Treasurer, Peter BoultonThe club treasurer this year is Rotarian Peter Boulton. Peter has been married to Shirley for 49 years. They have two daughters, one of whom lives at Heidelberg in Germany and the other in Surrey. Peter is now fully retired after 25 years in the manufacturing end of the Fashion Trade and then 15 years in Business Training and Consultancy. His major hobby is trout fishing which he manages around twice a week.

 

Being President

In Rotary International, Club Presidents - like all senior Rotarians - serve for just one year in that position. The President Elect automatically becomes President after one year and will normally have served a year prior to that as President Nominee. Other Officers serve between three and five years depending on the position and are then obliged to take a one year sabbatical rest before holding another position.

 

It is a great honour to be elected to any position within a Rotary Club.
