Being President
In Rotary International, Club Presidents - like all senior Rotarians - serve for just one year in that position. The President Elect automatically becomes President after one year and will normally have served a year prior to that as President Nominee. Other Officers serve between three and five years depending on the position and are then obliged to take a one year sabbatical rest before holding another position. It is a great honour to be elected to any position within a Rotary Club. Presidents and Officers receive no salary or, stipend and undertake their duties in the spirit of the Rotary motto which is:
